Due donne: una commedia triste

Two women: a sad comedy

Due donne è il mio primo lavoro teatrale, scritto ormai qualche anno fa.

Con questa piccola commedia triste ho iniziato il mio percorso drammaturgico, attraverso il quale provo a esplorare le relazioni umane in situazioni particolari e differenti.

E' la storia di due amiche che vivono assieme e che scoprono di volere una relazione con lo stesso uomo. Il rapporto e la convivenza delle due amiche arriva così ad un deterioramento senza possibilità di ricomposizione.

Il testo affronta temi scottanti e attuali, come il drop out e la disoccupazione, la pedofilia e la violenza domestica, alternando momenti leggeri e divertenti a passaggi drammatici.

Two women is my first play, written some years ago.

With this little sad comedy I began my journey in the plawriting, in wich I try to explore human relationships in special and different situations.

It is the story of two girlfriends living together, who find out they want a lovig relationship with the same man.

The relationship and the cohabitaion of the two friends thus arrives to a deterioration without possibility of recomposition.

The text treats of hot and actual subjects, like the drop out and the unemployement, child abuse and domestic violence, alternating light and amusing moments with dramatic passages.

Un'ora d'aria

Un'ora d'aria è un testo che mi ha dato nel contempo grande soddisfazione e una certa dose di delusione.

Il progetto iniziale prevedeva un dramma in due atti, il primo dei quali dedicato ad esplorare uno strano rapporto tra un detenuto e una guardia carceraria, mentre il secondo vedeva l'inserimento di una terza figura, un burattinaio in crisi inviato dal Ministero di Grazia e Giustizia in tournée nelle carceri.

Alla fine, un po' per la mia proverbiale pigrizia e un po' per la scadenza di un concorso teatrale al quale avevo deciso di inviare il lavoro (Oltreparola), ho chiuso la commedia alla fine del primo atto trasformandola in un corto teatrale. Da qui la delusione, di non essere riuscito a completare il progetto iniziale. La soddisfazione: la commedia è entrata nel ristrettissimo gruppo dei lavori finalisti al premio Oltreparola.

La parte tagliata riguardante il burattinaio era derivata da un mio soggetto cinematografico (Dosvidania tovarich!), e non escludo in futuro di riprenderla. Se vuoi sapere qualcosa in più su Dosvidania tovarich! e sulle mie (poche) attività cinematografiche, vedi la sezione Cinema.

Un carcere che sta per essere chiuso per ristrutturazione. Un secondino e un detenuto che stanno per essere trasferiti in due carceri diversi. Hanno passato assieme, da soli nel carcere fatiscente, gli ultimi sei anni. Adesso passano assieme l'ultima sera, giocano a scacchi e parlano. Un rapporto difficile, ma pieno di umanità e di poesia in un contesto dove l'umanità e la poesia non hanno di solito diritto di cittadinanza.

An hour of freedom

An hour of freedom is a play that gave to me at the same time great satisfaction and some disappointment.

The initial project was of a drama in two acts, the first of wich being dedicated to a strange relation between an inmate and a prison guard, while the second one involved a third character, a puppeteer in crisis sent by the Ministry of Justice on tour in the jails.

At the end, a little for my proverbial lazyness and little for the expiry of a theatrical competition to wich I have decided to send the work (Oltreparola), I finished the comedy at the end of the first act transforming it in a short play. Hence the disappointment, the fact of not be able to complete the original project. The satisfaction: the comedy came into the very small group of finalists at Oltreparola prize.

The eliminated part on the puppeteer came from one of my film script (Dosvidania tovarich!), and I do not exclude in the future to resume it. If you want to know something more on Dosvidania tovarich! and on my (very fex) cinema activities, see the section Movie.

A jail that is going to be closed for renovation. A prison guard and an inmate waiting to move the day after in two different prisons. They spent together, alone in the rundown jail, the last six years. Now they spend the last evening together, playing chess and talking. A difficult relationship, but full of humanity and poetry in a context where the humanity and the poetry do not usually have right to citizenship.
